Today I Learned Taste Guam 2011

The fourth annual “Taste Guam” event presented by GHRA. Fiji Water, and Budwieser took off at the Hyatt Hotel from 5pm to 10pm on June 4, 2011. There were about 20 well known exhibitors from hotels and local restaurants and it was an interesting epicurean night on Guam.

The event was free to the public but unlike the past, people had to buy $20 SCRIPS or food coupon booklets to get the food they wanted to try.

From the start, there were heaps of people walking in and trying out the food they can get their hands on. As the adults over 21 had the privilege to drink, many others sat in a designated lounge and enjoyed their delicious meals.

Live entertainment was present, while an on-stage chef demonstrating some dishes for the crowd occurred every hour. The great thing about the demo chef’s was the food they made was absolutely complimentary. It's really unfortunate they didn’t have enough for everyone.

Below are some photos taken from the event. Enjoy!

From beginning to end, everyone who attended had the opportunity to vote the best tasting local dish.

Anyways, let's cut to the chase... The champion for the People’s Choice award goes to Meskla Restaurant.

Congratulations to the representing Chef Peter Duenas and his team.

You can see the pride in all their faces, just as you can see how proudly the guy (Rhett Bong) standing second from left is posing.
